Some of those, who thought they were safe after performing on Day 1, receive the bad news that they are sent home at the end of Day 2.

AceShowbiz - After going through Hollywood weeks with some health scares, "American Idol" has brought the remaining contestants to Las Vegas in its latest episode. In the Thursday, February 16 outing, 70 singers who were divided in groups of three or four brought back the music from 1950s or 1960s to the Viva Elvis stage in two-day performances.

Cari Quoyeser, Chase Likens, Colton Dixon and Skylar Laine were up first on Day 1, singing "Dedicated to the One I Love". Cari was sent home, but the other three were given a pass to the next round. Meanwhile, Adam Brock, Erika Van Pelt, Angie Zeiderman and Shelby Tweten who sang "Great Balls of Fire" were also moving on to the next round.

David Leather Jr., Jeremy Rosado, Ariel Sprague and Gabi Carrubba also did an awesome job of performing "Rockin' Robin", but Gabi was upset that her part did not show her off enough. The judges, however, told they were all advancing. The judges later gave a standing ovation to Haley Johnson, Reed Grimm, Elise Testone and Eben Franckewitz after they performed "The Night Has a Thousand Eyes".

Richie "cowboy" Law, who didn't get along well with Heejun Han in Hollywood, now teamed up with Jermaine Jones, who also has a deep voice. They delivered a unique version of "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do", which earned them three "yes". Another standout performance was made by Jessica Sanchez, Deandre Brackensick and Candice Glover who sang "Guess It Doesn't Matter Anymore".

After 10 groups performed, those who were staying were called back onto the stage and informed that they were not completely safe. If those who perform on Day 2 were better singers, Day 1 winners could lose their spots.

On Day 2, Clayton Farhat, Scott Dangerfield, Adam Lee Decker and Curtis Gray took the stage first and performed an Elvis Presley song. Scott, Clayton and Adam made it through to the next round, but it was the end of the road for Curtis.

Courtney Williams, Britnee Kellogg and Jessica Phillips teamed up to sing "Keep Me Hanging On", but only Courtney and Britnee who were still hanging on the show. The same result went for Lauren Gray, Wendy Taylor and Mathenee Treco with Mathenee sent packing.

Next, Jairon Jackson, Neco Starr, Phillip Phillips and Heejun Han sang "I Only Have Eyes For You", and they were all given a pass. Jen Hirsch, Creighton Fraker, Aaron Marcellus and Nick Boddington did a good job with a cover of "Sealed With a Kiss", but only Jen, Creighton and Aaron went to the next round.

After Day 2 was wrapped, all contestants were called back as the judges made more cut. Those being added to the eliminated ones were Gabi Carrubba, Schyler Dixon, Angie Zeiderman, Candice Glover, Johnny Keyser, Jairon Jackson and Britnee Kellogg.

The remaining 42 singers will next compete for the Top 24 spots.
