A gold hearse arrived at Whigham Funeral Home in Newark just before midnight after the private jet carrying the late 'Step by Step' singer landed at the Teterboro Airport on February 13.

AceShowbiz - The body of Whitney Houston has finally arrived in her home state of New Jersey. Just before midnight on Monday, February 13 night, a gold hearse was spotted leaving the Teterboro Airport in New Jersey and heading to Whigham Funeral Home in Newark under heavy police escort.

WABC-TV reported that the private jet carrying the pop icon's remains landed at the airport at approximately 10:30 P.M. local time. Reuters additionally detailed that when the hearse arrived at the funeral home, which handled the funeral of Houston's father back in 2003, a crowd of about 50 fans had gathered outside.

Words have swirled around that a wake is expected to be held on Thursday, February 16 and a private funeral service is likely to be done the next day at the Prudential Center. E! News additionally suggested that Rev. Marvin Winans, who officiated Houston's wedding to Bobby Brown, might preside over the funeral.

Houston passed away in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on Saturday, February 11. An autopsy to determine her cause of death was completed on Sunday, but results were placed on security hold, "pending toxicology and further testing." Beverly Hills Police released more details surrounding her death on Monday, confirming that that she was found underwater and unconscious in the hotel's bathtub.
