AceShowbiz - After being previewed on CBS, the first official teaser trailer for "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" has come out in full via Time.com. Highlighting the gritty and dark tone of the movie, the sneak-peek video previews some epic battle scenes in which Abe uses his axe to kill vampires.

Based on Seth Graham-Smith's novel of the same title, the upcoming film presents Abe as a man who dedicates his life to destroy vampires with an axe after his mother was killed by the bloodsuckers. He continues to hunt the immortal creatures all the way through his presidency.

Benjamin Walker takes the title role. Playing a twisted version of America's 16th president, the lead actor is confident that nobody's going to get hurt because the iconic leader is so universally beloved. "His legacy is safe. It's something we all agree on and we're all proud of as Americans. Once you know that, nobody's going to actually get hurt," he reasoned.

"Wanted (2008)" director Timur Bekmambetov serves behind the lens, with the script provided by Grahame-Smith. Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are among other cast members supporting the thriller which is set to be unleashed in theaters across the U.S. on June 22.
