The first scenes from the Benjamin Walker-starring thriller offer a look at the America's 16th president showing no fear while slaying the bloodsuckers with his trusty axe.

AceShowbiz - While the first official trailer for "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" will not be released until Monday, February 13, the first footage from the anticipated thriller has been shared when it's aired on CBS. Along with an interview with lead actor Benjamin Walker, the video gives a look at multiple battle scenes featuring axe-wielding Abe heartlessly killing vampires.

Discussing his upcoming Abe film, Walker said that the story is "told through the structure of Lincoln's actual life." He added, "You not only see these huge fight scenes and great moments of drama, but you get sort of the greatest hits of Lincoln's life, from the mysterious death of his mother through the Gettysburg address. You get a portrait of this man, as well as a thriller."

Instead of highlighting Abe's stellar political life, "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" presents the America's 16th president as a man who dedicates his life to destroy the bloodsuckers with his trusty axe after his mother was killed by the undead creatures. He continues to hunt the immortal beings all the way through his presidency.

Tackling the directorial duty is visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov, who also co-produces the film along with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley. Seth Grahame-Smith, meanwhile, serves as the screenwriter. Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jimmi Simpson and Rufus Sewell additionally round up the casting department.

20th Century Fox has tapped June 22 as the day when the movie arrives in theaters across the U.S.
