A representative for the party debunks earlier report that Davis is canceling the annual party, but sources say the chief creative officer of Sony Music is not expected to be in attendance.

AceShowbiz - Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party will go on as scheduled. A representative for the annual event, which is held at the Beverly Hilton on the night before the Grammy Awards, debunked previous claim that the chief creative officer of Sony Music is canceling the bash due to Whitney Houston's sudden passing, assuring Just Jared, "It's still on."

One source told the blog that the organizers "are trying to pull together a memorial of sorts for grieving". The source added, "But they are trying to turn away as many people as possible." Other sources informed TMZ that Davis himself will miss out on the festivity which was originally scheduled to be opened by Houston.

Report that Davis was canceling his annual pre-Grammy party came shortly after it was reported that Whitney passed away inside her Beverly Hilton hotel room on Saturday, February 11 afternoon. Just Jared claimed that his label stated at the time, "He's not having it anymore. It's been canceled. Very unfortunate."

Us Weekly reported that a day before she died, Whitney was spotted doing a sound check for her scheduled performance at the annual pre-Grammy party. Though she seemed "wasted" and "moody" on Thursday night, the singer allegedly looked fine during the occasion. "She was present and ready," said a source. "She had water to keep her vocals clear, and was trying to not smoke."
