Madge feels blindsided by M.I.A. due to her 'irrelevant' stunt, but reportedly accepts the 'Paper Planes' hitmaker's apology.

AceShowbiz - Though she's not happy with M.I.A. for flipping the bird during Super Bowl, Madonna reportedly forgives the British rapper. According to her representative Liz Rosenberg as quoted by The Associated Press, the "Paper Planes" hitmaker has apologized to Madge, and the Material Girl accepted it because she thought the femcee just got caught up in the moment.

Madonna herself has expressed her dismay for what M.I.A. did when they performed together with Nicki Minaj during the halftime show. "To tell you the truth, I didn't even know about it. I actually didn't know about it until I left," the 53-year-old singer told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show recently. "I was really surprised. I didn't know anything about it."

She continued, "I wasn't happy about it. I understand it's punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity, it seemed negative... It's such a teenager...irrelevant thing to do. There was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? It was just out of place."

Talking about the Super Bowl experience, Madge admitted, "I was more nervous doing this show than any show I've ever done in my entire life, for sure." She added, "It wasn't my turf... I'm walking into the holy grail of American sports. I know very well that everyone in the stands could go and leave and get hot dogs if they want to."

Recalling her moment onstage, she gushed, "When my throne docked on the stage...then getting my cartwheels on the bleachers right. Once I got past those two moments I knew I was sailing home." Though being overwhelmed by the entire show, it wasn't until she performed with Cee-Lo Green that she started to cry. "I felt an incredible sense of warmth, love, and support. To see an entire stadium light up like candles it was...like a religious experience," she shared.

Beside talking about the show, Madge also addressed rumor that she would do a duet with Britney Spears. "No, it's just little ol' me," so she debunked the report. Also, she squashed suggestion that she would reprise the Super Bowl Roman warrior-themed set at her upcoming world tour. "Oh god no! I don't want to repeat myself. I never do that!" she said.

While Madonna has revealed how unhappy she was over the middle finger salute, M.I.A. remains mum. Although she hasn't issued a direct statement to comment on the obscene gesture, the "Born Free" singer has posted a cryptic message on her Twitter. "It's sad to see our media in such a state of unfounded gossipy nonsense when there are real problems in the world," so she wrote.
