The Draco Malfoy of the 'Harry Potter' film series is in talks to star in the forthcoming period drama movie, which also has acclaimed actress Glenn Close supporting the cast ensemble.

AceShowbiz - Tom Felton is close to score a role in another potential big movie post-"Harry Potter". The British actor, who is famously known for his portrayal as bratty Draco Malfoy in the wizard boy film series, is in talks to join Elizabeth Olsen in a forthcoming period drama called "Therese Raquin".

According to Deadline, the 24-year-old blond actor is in negotiation to fill the part of the husband of Olsen's character. He is also expected to star opposite Oscar-nominated actress Glenn Close.

Set in the 1867 Paris, "Therese Raquin" follows young Therese (Olsen) who is forced by her aunt Madamme Raquin (Close) into a loveless marriage to her sick, spoiled first cousin (Felton). Therese soon becomes obsessed with her husband's friend Laurent and is pulled into a devastating affair with him that unravels all of their lives.

Along with Laurent, Therese then murders her husband. However, as she finally gets married to her lover, she is haunted by the ghost of her dead husband. The situation soon ruins her marriage life and poisons her love into all-consuming hatred.

The screenplay is written by acclaimed theater director Charlie Stratton, who is also set to serve behind the lens. Mickey Liddell and William Horberg, meanwhile, are teaming up to produce the upcoming movie.

After finishing off "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" in 2011, Tom Felton landed a supporting role in Rupert Wyatt's "Rise of the Planet of the Apes". He has recently wrapped the production of a TV miniseries, "Labyrinth", as well as feature films "The Apparition" and "From the Rough".
