Confirmed: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone to Reunite for 'The Tomb'
Movie

Arnie has officially signed on to join Sly in the upcoming Mikael Hafstrom-directed action film, which centers on the story of the world's foremost authority on structural security.

AceShowbiz - Action veterans Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone will once again team up to star in a new high-octane film, "The Tomb (2014)". After rumors of their reunion surfaced in January, Summit Entertainment finally released an official statement to confirm their involvement in the upcoming movie.

On Wednesday, February 8, Summit announced that Arnie has officially joined Sly in the movie, which will be helmed by Swedish director Mikael Hafstrom. Arnie will fill the part of Church, a guy who "fights to keep the prisoners from losing their humanity in their darkest hour as they struggle together to stay alive."

Commenting on Arnie's casting, producer Mark Canton gushed, "I am thrilled to be making 'The Tomb' with two film icons, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger." He added, "It is the perfect pairing for this high octane thriller. Robbie Benner, Emmet/Furla, Kevin King-Templeton and I have been working long and hard with Summit to bring them together for this dynamic project."

Arnie himself, who earlier today tweeted a photo of himself an Sly lying shirtless in hospital beds, expressed his excitement to join the project. Taking to his Twitter, he wrote, "Now we're ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb. #greattobeback."

"The Tomb" follows Stallone's Ray Breslin, who is the world's foremost authority on structural security. He's analyzed every high security prison and has gained a vast array of survival skills. But all Ray's ingenuity and knowledge are about to be put to work in the most challenging test he's ever faced; escaping from the master prison of his own design.

The principal photography has been scheduled to kick off this Spring in Lousiana. Providing the screenplay is Jason Keller, who rewrites it from the original script penned by Miles Chapman.

Arnie and Sly will next be seen together in star-studded action pic "The Expendables II", which is in post-production stage at the moment and will be released in the U.S. this August 17. As for director Hafstrom, he has recently directed "The Rite", a horror movie starring Anthony Hopkins.
