Admitting she was nervous singing the national anthem, the 'American Idol' alum praises the drum line and the Indianapolis children choir for making her performance stand out.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson apparently hid her nerves very well when taking center stage at Super Bowl XLVI. A day after wowing the crowd with her stirring rendition of the national anthem at the Sunday, February 5 game, the "Mr. Know It All" singer admitted to MTV News, "That was the longest minute and a half of my life ha!"

"I have probably sang the National Anthem a thousand times and have never been nervous," the 29-year-old claimed, "but I definitely was last night at the Super Bowl!" In a statement released on Monday, February 6 afternoon, she also praised the marching band and the children choir, who joined her during her performance.

"I was very excited as well because of the drum line and the Indianapolis kids choir that were performing with me," she gushed. "They made the performance stand out a lot more and those kids sounded so ethereal and beautiful! It was a huge honor to get to sing the anthem and I'd be proud to do it again!"

Hours earlier, Clarkson also admitted to being nervous singing the anthem on her WhoSay page. "Guess what ....I've never been more nervous in my life than singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl tonight," she wrote. "wow that was almost not fun I was so nervous! Fun night overall though! Thank you everybody for all of the nice things you're saying about my performance! I really appreciate it :)"
