Provocative Poster Featuring 'The Artist' Star Under Fire
Movie

French advertising officials have ordered 'The Players' ads featuring among others Jean Dujardin suggestively having sex, to be taken down.

AceShowbiz - "The Artist" actor Jean Dujardin is making a buzz outside his acting nod in the awards season. The French actor is under attack for the provocative ads of his new movie "The Players", in which a woman's legs are spread open in the air and Dujardin holds them in suggestive pose. "I'm going to a meeting," the tagline says.

"The Players" is a French movie containing a series of sketches from different directors including Dujardin. The theme is male infidelity and the ads leave the producers under fire for degradation against women. "The campaign for the film The Players with #JeanDujardin will be taken down due to complaints," Studio Cine Live's editor Fabrice Leclerc tweeted on Wednesday, February 1 evening.

Another poster of the movie shows a woman who appears to perform fellatio on actor Gilles Lellouche with the tag "It's going to cut out. I'm entering a tunnel." Both Dujardin and Lellouche also appear on the cover of movie magazine Premiere, wearing only shirt, blazer and ties and covering their private parts with their hands.

Head of ARPP, France's authority for the professional regulation of advertising, said, "We already feel that this campaign is against the rules ...even if it relates to the subject of the film, a comedy about adultery." He added, "As a preventative measure, weve already counseled JC Decaux, who are in charge of the billboards, to take them down."

"The Players" is scheduled to play in French theaters on February 29.
