The 'E.T.' hitmaker is in early talks with Paramount Pictures and Imagine Entertainment to create a documentary-like movie that features her stage performance footage.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry may follow Justin Bieber's footsteps in making a concert documentary movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perry's camp is currently in negotiations with Paramount Pictures and Imagine Entertainment to create a 3D film that will include the pop sensation's performance footage.
The dealmaking is still in the early phase and no director has yet to be attached to the possible movie. Though so, it is said that both Perry and Paramount are eager to run the project. Multiple sources said that "it's just a matter of working out the logistics."
An insider additionally revealed that the possible Katy Perry concert movie will likely be developed in similar tone to "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never", which scored a big success in concert film field by collecting a total domestic cume of $73 million since it was released on February 11, 2011.
In the past four years, several concert movies from various famous pop stars have receieved a successful box office result in North America. In 2008, Miley Cyrus' "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour" surprisingly grossed $65 million, while a year later "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" repeated the success.
The world's biggest gross concert movie so far is Michael Jackson's "This Is It", which collected a massive $261.2 million in 2009. Still, there was a concert documentary pic that couldn't share the same success as its predecessors. Last year, "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie" had a weak performance by grossing only $11.8 million.
