It's official, Steve Jones won't return as the host of "The X Factor (US)" season 2. Following speculation that he would get the boot, the Welsh TV presenter finally announced his exit on Monday, January 30 via his Twitter.
"I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame," so the 34-year-old hunk wrote. Hinting that he doesn't hold hard feelings for his firing, he added, "...but I cant complain as I've had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show."
Sources close to the U.S. version of "The X Factor" have also confirmed that Jones is leaving the show. There has been no explanation why his contract wasn't renewed, but Simon Cowell recently admitted that Jones did not fit the program.
"He got a lot of stick (a British term for criticism). I don't think he did a bad job but, like 'America's Got Talent', there is a Brit limit on the show," so the reality show's creator said.
