Confirming there are talks about the spin-off project centering on his 'The Office' character, Wilson teases, 'It would have a crazy menagerie of characters.'

AceShowbiz - Rainn Wilson has confirmed that "The Office" spin-off is in the works. Met at the red carpet of the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, January 29, the Dwight Schrute of the NBC sitcom told E!, "We're talking about it, it's a good idea. We're mulling it over."

After joking that a Dwight-centric series is "the worst idea I have ever heard in my life," the 46-year-old gushed the show "could be really cool" and "would be even more far out and weird than 'The Office'." He further shared what could be expected from the spin-off as saying, "It would have a crazy menagerie of characters."

News of the possible "The Office" spin-off broke last week. A source revealed that it would be a family comedy revolving around Wilson's character as he returns to his family's beet farm and bed & breakfast. No deals have been officially sealed for the project, but it was said that a backdoor pilot is planned to air later this season for a projected 2013 premiere.
