Giving a look at Dafoe's dangerous adventure in chasing 'the rarest, most delusive creature on the planet' in Tasmania, the trailer also highlights a mesmerizing landscape of Australian wilderness.

AceShowbiz - The full-length trailer for Willem Dafoe's survival thriller "The Hunter (2012)" has been debuted. Being filled with intense scenes, it highlights Dafoe's lead character Martin who is hired to hunt down Tasmanian Tiger, which is "the rarest, most delusive creature on the planet." Not only does it present a look at Martin's life-threatening adventure, but also the sneak peek showcases an astounding landscape of Australian untamed wilderness.

Martin is a skilled and ruthless mercenary sent into the Tasmanian jungle on a hunt for a tiger believed to be extinct. Hired by an anonymous company that wants the tiger's genetic material, Martin arrives in Tasmania posing as a scientist.

There, he proceeds to set up base camp at a broken-down farmhouse, where he stays with a family whose father has gone missing. Usually a loner, Martin becomes increasingly close to the family. However, as his attachment to the family grows, Martin is led down a path of unforseen dangers, complicating his deadly mission.

"The Hunter" is adapted from the heralded novel by controversial filmmaker Julia Leigh. Tackling the directorial duty is Daniel Nettheim, while Alice Addison serves as the screenwriter. Joining Dafoe in the cast ensemble are Sam Neill, Frances O'Connor, Sullivan Stapleton, Dan Wyllie and Callan Mulvey.

The thriller, which received positive reviews as it was premiered during last year's Toronto Film Festival, will be released in the U.S. on April 6.
