AceShowbiz - Kristin Cavallari is trying to ease people's concern that she has been drinking while pregnant. Shortly after announcing that she and fiance Jay Cutler are expecting their first child together, the former star of "The Hills" explained that her previous tweet about drinking margaritas was posted to distance herself from any pregnancy rumors.
"I tweeted that I had margaritas a few weeks ago to throw ppl off cuz I had gotten a couple tweets about my pregnancy," tweeted the 25-year-old on Monday, January 23. "I didn't really drink!" She was trying to clarify her early January post that read, "Mexican and margs in chi town with some of my fav people."
Just hours earlier, the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant expressed her gratitude for the congratulatory messages she and her Chicago Bears quarterback fiance received following her pregnancy announcement. "Thanks for all the sweet messages! We are so excited for this little bun in the oven," so she wrote.
Cutler himself took to his Twitter to clarify other issues. Having thanked fans for the well-wishes, the 28-year-old wrote, "We don't usually comment on our relationship but for the record I never broke up with Kristin. Its unfortunate some people are saying hurtful things during such a joyous moment in our life."
Cavallari and Cutler shared their baby news on Sunday, January 22. The couple, who called off their engagement in July 2011 before reconciling in November the same year, told PEOPLE, "We are thrilled to announce we are expecting our first child together. It's an amazing time in our life and we can't wait to meet the new addition to our growing family."
