The winner of 'American Idol' inaugural season does a rendition of the 1968 single in front of the crowd at Radio City Music Hall.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson paid homage to Etta James, who passed away at a Riverside, California hospital on January 20, at her recent concert. The Texan-born singer crooned one of the legend's blues classics, "I'd Rather Go Blind", when performing at Radio City Music Hall in New York City over the weekend.

"This isn't 'At Last' because everyone really covers that and so I wanted to do my favorite, actually. My favorite song is 'I'd Rather Go Blind'. So, this is for Etta!" so Clarkson told the crowd before launching into a sublime cover for the 1968 single. Two days earlier, she mourned the death of the music veteran by tweeting, ":( sad news. -she was great :(".

Kelly Clarkson is currently on tour to support her latest studio installment "Stronger". The pop/rock singer, who once covered "At Last" at her audition for the first season of "American Idol", kicked off the trek on January 13 at MGM Grand Theater in Foxwoods, Mashantucket. She will stay on the road until April and wrap it up on date 10 at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.

Before singing at the Radio City, she tweeted, "I'M SO EXCITED THAT WE'RE PLAYING RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL TONIGHT!!!! I can't take it!! It's too much haha!! New York, are you ready?!!!" After the show, she returned to Twitter to post her appreciation for the love she got, "I LOVE NEW YORK!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! SUCH A GREAT NIGHT WOOHOOOOOOO :) :) :)."
