Revealing that he will reprise his role as the Asgardian sentry in the upcoming 'Thor' sequel, the 'Luther' actor says, ' 'The Avengers' I'm not sure about, but 'Thor 2', we're going at it again.'

AceShowbiz - Idris Elba has confirmed his return to "Thor 2". The English actor, who has just won the Best Actor prize at 2012 Golden Globe Awards for his role on TV show "Luther", is set to reprise his role as Asgardian sentry Heimdall in the forthcoming "Thor" sequel.

Talking about his future projects to MTV News at the Sunday, January 15 awards show, Elba said, " 'Thor 2' for sure." The 39-year-old actor, however, noted that he was not sure if he would appear in "The Avengers" as well. He added, " 'The Avengers' I'm not sure about, but 'Thor 2', we're going at it again."

In the first 'Thor' movie, Elba tackled the part of Heimdall, who is the brother of the warrior Sif. He is the guardian sentry of Asgard who stands on the rainbow bridge Bifrost to watch for any attacks to Asgard.

Elba is set to join the other returning cast members, including Chris Hemsworth as the titular hero, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Jaimie Alexander as Sif.

"Thor 2" will be directed by Alan Taylor with Robert Rodat rewriting the original script from Don Payne. The anticipated superhero movie has been scheduled to make its way out to the U.S. theaters on November 15, 2013.

In addition to the "Thor" sequel, Elba is working on Guillermo del Toro's "Pacific Rim", which is currently filming in Toronto. Speaking about his other project, he said, "I've been up there for five months, and I love it. Guillermo is a genius, and the film we're making is a huge film. It's a mad monster movie, robots, and me."
