The 'Crazy, Stupid, Love.' actress calls the situation experienced by Palin 'a pretty extraordinary one,' admitting that it's 'a daunting task' to play the former vice presidential candidate.

AceShowbiz - At the Television Critics Association winter press tour, Julianne Moore talked about her portrayal of Sarah Palin in "Game Change". Having done research to portray the former vice presidential candidate, the Oscar-nominated actress could say that there was a lot of pressure put on a person during the candidacy and she wanted to present that in the TV movie.
"Her situation was a pretty extraordinary one," Moore admitted. "From where she was taken in state government and thrust into national, even international [politics]. There was a tremendous amount of pressure. That was what I was trying to capture, the pressure that she was under: What was that like? That pressure cooker kind of atmosphere? What does that do to somebody psychologically?"
Learning how hard the situation could be for Palin during the 2008 presidential campaign, the Jules of "The Kids Are All Right" admired how the female politician performed at that time. "I have profound respect for the historical nature of her candidacy," she stated. "We have her displaying moments of sheer brilliance... The fact she was able to perform the way she did was simply amazing."
On her feelings to play the former Governor of Alaska, Moore opened up, "It was a daunting task to play somebody who is not only a living figure but a hugely well-known one." She reasoned, "She's a real human being, and it's my responsibility to portray her as accurately as possible."
"Game Change", which is set to debut on March 10 on HBO, centers on John McCain's ill-fated 2008 presidential campaign, during which Palin was selected as his running mate. Ed Harris is cast as McCain.
