'Modern Family', 'Curb' and '30 Rock' Nominated at 2012 DGA Awards

Demi Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Alicia Keys, Patty Jenkins and Penelope Spheeris also get a chance to win a prize at the annual event through the directorial stint in TV movie 'Five'.

A day after announcing its movie nominees, the 2012 Directors Guild of America Awards unveiled the TV contenders for its upcoming prize-giving event. The Comedy Series category is dominated by "" and "" with two nods each, while "" scores one nomination.

Critically acclaimed new series "" and "" land a spot each in the Dramatic Series category. To win the title, they must fight against "", "" and "".

The DGA also honors , , Penelope Spheeris, and Patty Jenkins with a Movies for Television and Mini-Series nomination for their work behind the lens of Lifetime's "". Other nominees in this category are "", "Thurgood", "" and "Hallmark Hall of Fame" ("Beyond the Blackboard" edition).

Winners of the 64th Annual DGA Awards will be announced at a dinner and ceremony which will be held on Saturday evening, January 28, 2012, at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland. is set to serve as the host.
