'Besides our daughter's birth, this was the best moment of my life!' Courtney Mazza described Lopez's proposal.

AceShowbiz - Mario Lopez begins the year with a proposal. The "Extra" host has asked his girlfriend Courtney Mazza's hand in marriage over New Year's weekend in Ixtapa, Mexico while family and friends surrounded them.
"We took a walk alone as the sun was setting," Lopez told Us weekly. "I told Courtney that I wanted the mother of my children to have their last name. She was silent at first from shock, then she leaped for joy and did a little jete!"
Lopez admitted that he did not plan the proposal thoroughly, saying, "See, that's the ring right there. And I'm debating right now, do I do the box like this like -- bam! Like they do in The Bachelor?" He added that his last words before proposing were "The sun's almost setting. The family's there and my friends. We're good to go. Wish me luck!"
The 38-year-old also revealed why he decided to take the next step. "I've come to the realization that I'm never going to meet another woman as special and amazing as the one I have and I think she's finally succumb to my pressure and will take me," he said. "So we'll see, I hope."
The couple started dating in 2008 and has a 15-month-old daughter together. They plan to tie the knot in Mexico later this year. Lopez will reveal more about the proposal in the upcoming episode of "Extra".
