Chris Brown In Talks to Sing at the Grammys Two Years After Rihanna Altercation

is having discussions with producers of the upcoming 54th annual Grammy Awards about the possibility of him performing at the show, according to Radar Online. If the rumor is true and the deal is sealed, this will be his first return to the show since he canceled his scheduled visit to the prize-giving event two years ago following an altercation with his then-girlfriend .

"Chris absolutely plans on attending the Grammys and is in talks with producers of the show to possibly perform," a source said. "Chris performed at the MTV Video Music Awards several months ago, and his performance was simply over the top as he was flying through the air like an acrobat. Chris' performance stole the show, and he would love to do something at the Grammys to top his VMA performance."

"Chris has grown tremendously as a person, and an artist from that time in his life," the source additionally stated. "Chris has complied with all terms of his probation and has completed most of his court ordered community service. He has been a model probationer, but more importantly, Chris accepted responsibility for what he did."

The insider went on, "Chris took that experience and vowed to learn from it and become a better person, and he was thrilled and truly humbled that he was nominated for three Grammys." The "Look at Me Now" hitmaker is indeed vying for three nods; Best R&B Album, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

2012 Grammy Awards itself is going to take place in a star-studded ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and broadcast live on February 12, 2012 at 8 P.M. ET/PT on CBS. The only confirmed guests so far are the members of . They are set to make a special appearance to officially announce the band's reunion in celebration of their 50th anniversary.
