has shared his unforgettable experience in working with Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg for "". Revealing that he always wanted to be like Tintin when he was a kid, the 25-year-old actor said playing the character is "the most primal of acting" for him.

"As a child, I didn't want to be me. I wanted to be Tintin," he admitted to the Chicago Sun-Times. "I wanted his lifestyle. I would stay up really late in my room and read the comics. When I closed my eyes, I liked the idea that I could have any adventure in my mind from reading 'Tintin'."

Bell then opened up about how he was first tapped to lend his voice and do the CGI performance for his childhood idol in the animated movie. "My casting started with Peter. I worked with him on '' and later told him I would literally die to play the part of Tintin," so he recalled.

His dream came true when Jackson invited him to New Zealand to discuss the role face-to-face. "He invited me to see how I could fare doing a CGI performance. Doing the motion-capture was an intense experience. It brings you back to the most primal of acting," said the actor who won a BAFTA award for his role in 2000's "Billy Elliot".

"As a dancer, it felt so good to do a role like Tintin that required me to move so much. I definitely brought my dancer self to the table," he said, adding that the key to play the young journalist was to "have a sense of yourself and dynamic in your physicality."

On working with legendary filmmaker like Spielberg, Bell said, "Spielberg was someone I always admired. He's such a visual storyteller at heart and a family man. I love being around his childlike enthusiasm." He added, "It was like 'Tintin' was the first time he ever made a movie."

The English actor, who will next be seen in thriller "", additionally revealed that he has signed on for the sequel. "We have a lot of material to choose from, but first the film has to be embraced by the public," he said of the progress of the sequel project.

During the chat, Bell also shared that he would love to star in a dance-theme movie once again. "You don't know how badly I'd love to do another dance film, but I'm the guy who did 'Billy Elliot', so it has to measure up," he said. "It's so hard to find one that's not corny."

"The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" has opened wide in the U.S. since December 21. The movie, which follows Tintin's first challenging adventure with Captain Haddock, is also supported by the likes of , , and .
