Winning in both the demo and total viewership, FOX has landed at the No. 1 spot on Thursday nights for the first time in its history.

AceShowbiz - After easily winning the Wednesday national TV ratings through the first part of its finale show, "The X Factor (US)" once again pulled in the biggest number of audience among the competing shows the following night. The singing competition closed its inaugural season by enjoying a 25|percent| boost on the result show. It drew 12.4 million viewers.

The episode, which featured Justin Bieber, Leona Lewis, Pitbull, Stevie Wonder and 50 Cent as musical guests, gave FOX a win not only in total viewership but also in the demo. Seeing Melanie Amaro taking home the crown, it took a 3.8 rating on Thursday in the adults 18-49 demographic, up 31|percent| from the Wednesday show which got a 3.3 rating in the same demo.

Much like the Wednesday night, the Thursday performance was also an easy score for the Steve Jones-hosted show since the other competing networks preferred to fill their schedules only with repeats, except for NBC which decided to air a new episode of both "Who's Still Standing?" and "Prime Suspect".

The game show which "presents a series of high-stakes trivia battles" received a 1.5/5 in the demo with a total of 5.2 million total viewers tuning in. Meanwhile, the drama series which stars Maria Bello and Aidan Quinn on the lead drew a 1.0/3 in the same demo with a total of 4.4 million total viewers watching it.

Overall, the "X Factor" boosted FOX's ratings on Wednesdays by 48|percent| and on Thursdays by 46|percent|. It placed the network at the first spot on Thursday nights in the fall, in the key category of adults age 18 to 49 for the first time in its history. The actual ratings for "X Factor" itself, however, were only up about 10|percent| over the first half of the season finale.
