The 'Super 8' director reveals that he will shoot the yet-to-be-titled 'Star Trek' sequel in 2D before converting it like 'Harry Potter' movie, and says that he might also shoot it in IMAX.

Though he is known as a tight-lipped director, J.J. Abrams recently revealed a few tidbits of his much awaited "" sequel. Speaking to MTV News during the New York premiere of "", Abrams shared that the yet-to-be-titled sequel is going to have a high-end 3D conversion.

In addition to the 3D conversion, Abrams opened up that he plans to shoot the untitled Star Trek sequel in IMAX format. He revealed, "We were talking about [shooting in IMAX] and I would love to do it. IMAX is my favorite format; I'm a huge fan."

Abrams refused to spill more details, but promises that the movie will be amazing. "It's a little early to be talking about 'Star Trek', but I will say that they wrote - the three writers, Damon [Lindelof], Bob [Orci] and Alex [Kurtzman] - they wrote the most amazing script, and I'm thrilled to get a chance to direct it," he said before adding that the film will begin shooting in January 2012.
