AceShowbiz - Together with a number of Chinese pop stars, will.i.am and apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas and John Legend visited Beijing, China on Saturday, December 17 night and performed. The event was organized by American Promoting Study Abroad and Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation to support study abroad programs for underprivileged American students.

will.i.am was the opening act, followed by China's Sa Dingding and her ethnic pop. Legend played five songs in one set and made a duet with U.S.-raised singer Shunzi. Coco Lee, who grew up in San Francisco, later joined Shunzi and acted as Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie in Black Eyed Peas when she joined will.i.am and apl.de.ap.

The "Booey Lehoo" concert was closed by a set from will.i.am. Despite the presence of international stars, the National Indoor Stadium was filled less than half its capacity which is 18,000 seats.

The concert was backed up by U.S. State Department. "Having come from the Los Angeles area, I know first-hand how important programs like 100,000 Strong can be," will.i.am said in the press release. "The opportunity to study abroad in China would be a dream realized for so many young people who may not otherwise have had the chance to see what else the world has to offer."
