The Viola Fields of 'Monster-in-Law' will portray a character whose descriptions resemble to her media tycoon ex-husband Ted Turner's.

AceShowbiz - Aaron Sorkin's upcoming drama series has just snatched a Hollywood movie veteran to be added to its cast ensemble. TVLine reports that two-time Academy Award winner Jane Fonda has been cast in a recurring role of Leona Lansing on the project, which has been unofficially referred to as "Newsroom".
Lansing is the CEO of cable news network's parent company. She is further described as "a titan and her corporate concerns often conflict with the reporting of the news outlet she owns." Although the company is fictional, her character sounds like a female version of Fonda's ex-husband, media tycoon and CNN founder Ted Turner.
The news network drama centers on a cable news anchor, his new executive producer, his newsroom staff and their boss who set out on a patriotic and quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles and their own personal entanglements.
Other actors already on board the project, which has been picked up by HBO, are Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill, John Gallagher Jr., Olivia Munn, Dev Patel, Thomas Sadoski and Sam Waterston.
