Michael Buble Stays Strong, to Continue Leading Hot 200 Next Week
Music

Ruling the U.S. album chart for three weeks in a row, Buble is estimated to occupy the penthouse again by selling around half a million copies of his album.

AceShowbiz - The champion on this week's Billboard Hot 200 remains the same as Michael Buble holds firmly his last week's position on the throne of the U.S. album chart. The Canadian singer secures the first position for a third consecutive week with his "Christmas" album.

After passing 1 million mark last week, Buble adds another 479,000 copies. The amount of the sold-out CDs becomes the largest sales number for a non-debuting album since Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream" pulled in 510,000 units in its fifth week of release over the holiday season two years ago.

Buble's extended reign on the chart holds off The Black Keys from taking over the position. The band have to settle at the runner-up place with the "El Camino" which bows with 206,000 sold. Although they fail to be the champion, it's still something to celebrate since the number marks their best sales week and highest charting album ever.

The second-highest new entry this week is Amy Winehouse who rounds up the top 5 with her posthumous album "Lioness: Hidden Treasures" which posts 114,000 copies in its debut week. The other new releases breaking the top 10 are "Glee: The Music, Season 3: Volume 7" at No. 9 (58,000) and Korn's "The Path of Totality" at No. 10 (55,000).

Next week, Buble is expected to come out on top again. He is predicted to rule the weekly rundown for a fourth time by easily selling around 450,000 to 500,000 copies of his holiday compilation CD. If the final figure meets the expectation, he will surpass 2 million mark by week's end on December 18.

So far, Buble has sold 1.52 million copies of the "Christmas" album in the United States after seven weeks of release. It becomes fourth best-selling album in 2011, following Adele's "21" (5 million), Lady GaGa's "Born This Way" (2 million), and Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" (1.8 million).
