The judges' votes end in a tie for Rachel and Marcus Canty, but the former is eliminated based on who is getting the lowest votes from viewers.

AceShowbiz - The judges were forced to make a hard decision on "The X Factor (US)" top 5 result show. Following the Wednesday performance show, it was revealed on Thursday, December 8 that Marcus Canty and Rachel Crowe landed on the bottom two.

Marcus, who was also on the verge of getting eliminated a week ago, sang "I'm Goin' Down" for his survival performance. As for Rachel, the 13-year-old girl who appeared among the standouts since the beginning opted to deliver "I'd Rather Go Blind".

When it's time for the judges to decide who would be sent home, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell chose to save their own act as usual with the former rooting for Marcus and the latter voting for Rachel. Paula Abdul gave her vote to Rachel, leaving Nicole Scherzinger to make the deciding vote.

"I can't make this decision," emotional Nicole said. "I'll have to go to a deadlock." After host Steve Jones once again reminded her about the rules, the former member of The Pussycat Dolls tearfully chose to send home Rachel to make it a tie.

It was later revealed that Rachel had to end her journey on the show because she got the lowest number of votes from America. Breaking into tears after learning her fate, the young singer took a few moment before thanking her loyal supporters and said, "I know this is not my ending."

Next week, Marcus, Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene will continue their battle on the semifinal round to determine who will make it to the finals. HollywoodLife recently reported that Mariah Carey has been tapped as a musical guest on the December 22 final result show.
