Although he had denied any wrongdoing, the actor has given a nod to a payment which will release him from litigation.

AceShowbiz - Tobey Maguire has agreed to rake out $80,000 to settle his part in a lawsuit about poker. The actor was one of nearly two dozen celebrities who took part in high-stake game organized by Ponzi schemer Bradley Ruderman who is now behind bars for operating illegal game and losing clients' money.

The hedgefund manager lost millions of money in the secret poker get-togethers but creditors of his bankrupt company said that the money was never Ruderman's in the first place. Maguire is dragged into the case because he allegedly won more than $300,000 worth of the illegal funds.

In new court filings dated November 18, it is stated that Maguire has agreed to pay $80,000. A judge has to sign off on the terms next month. After his payment, he would be freed from litigation against the people said to have profited from illegal gambling with Ruderman.

The "Spider-Man" actor has actually denied any wrongdoing in the case. In court filings back in June, he "unconditionally denies having engaged in any conduct whatsoever in violation of law and further categorically denies having knowingly or intentionally participated in any fraudulent scheme."
