Michael Fassbender Shares Ideas for 'X-Men: First Class' Sequel
Movie

Revealing that he wants to see how Charles Xavier becomes Professor X in the sequel, Fassbender dishes that he and James McAvoy are 'getting sort of giddy with the prospect of the next one.'

AceShowbiz - It has been reported that a sequel to "X-Men: First Class" might happen, but details of the possible project are still kept under wraps. Michael Fassbender, who plays Magneto in the film, recently opened up that he already has some ideas for the sequel.

Speaking to Total Film, the German actor said, "If they make enough money usually they make a sequel. They usually give you the first one and then two options." He added, "I've got some interesting ideas for Magneto, as does James [McAvoy] for Professor X."

"I want to see how Professor X becomes Professor X because he's starting his journey at the end of this film but I've made my transition into Magneto," the 34-year-old actor continued. "I've got the hat and I'm ready for action. I've got the purple helmet..."

Furthermore, Fassbender said that he's been looking forward to reunite with James McAvoy and director Matthew Vaughn in the untitled X-Men: First Class sequel. "I know we really enjoyed working with each other and it would be great if we could get that original team back. James and I were getting sort of giddy with the prospect of the next one," he admitted.

Back in July, it was reported that 20th Fox Century was interested in making follow-ups to the "X-Men" prequel since executives are reportedly pleased with the movie's achievement. The film has earned $335 million worldwide since it was released in June this year.

Recently, lead actor McAvoy told Collider that the producers are not rushing in making the sequel. "We're still waiting for Fox to greenlight it. I think what they're doing really well is that they're not just rushing ahead and making another one because it did well."

"They are just trying to get a decent story together. If they don't get a decent story together, then we probably won't do another one because it can be a stand-alone film," he explained. "We shouldn't just make another one because we want to make some money. There needs to be a good script there."

"X-Men: First Class" opened in U.S. theaters on June 3 with Vaughn tackling the helming duty. Joining Fassbender and McAvoy in the cast ensemble were Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, January Jones as Emma Frost, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert and Nicholas Hoult as Beast.
