Sienna Miller and JK Rowling Reveal How Media Harass Them
Celebrity

Miller said photographers would spit at her just to get a reaction while Rowling said her young daughter was used as tool to communicate with her.

AceShowbiz - Sienna Miller hates the media attention to the point that she was left paranoid and scared for years. In a media ethics inquiry on Thursday, November 24, the actress revealed how she was hounded by paparazzi outside her house and hacked on her mobile phone.

"For a number of years I was relentlessly pursued by 10 to 15 men, almost daily," she said. "Spat at, verbally abused. I would often find myself, at the age of 21, at midnight, running down a dark street on my own with 10 men chasing me. And the fact they had cameras in their hands made that legal."

Miller started to become frequent tabloid subjects after dating Jude Law. Many times she would accuse her friends and family of leaking her personal information to the media while in fact her voice mails on cell phone had been hacked. The constant scrutiny left her feeling "very violated and very paranoid and anxious, constantly."

Also talking at the British inquiry was "Harry Potter" author JK Rowling who told harrowing stories like how paps leave a note on her 5-year-old's book bag. "I felt such a sense of invasion....it's very difficult to say how angry I felt that my 5-year-old daughter's school was not a complete place of security," she said.

Rowling has sued several media and prevented her pics and her daughter's to be published. "It's hard to explain how it feels to someone who has not experienced it. It's incredibly threatening," she said, adding "We're not looking for special treatment. We're looking for normal treatment."
