have finally broken their silence regarding the online petition which contained protests over their upcoming performance at the NFL's Thanksgiving Day game. Instead of issuing an official statement, the Chad Kroeger-fronted band took to Funny Or Die to respond to the backlash.

In the video, the band's members are seen sitting down with a label advisor, played by comedian Paul Scheer, at EKG Records headquarters. They talk about the haters and what should they do to shut them up. "We gotta figure out right now why Detroit hate Nickelback," so Scheer tells Kroeger and his friends.

"Let's give Motor City that Motown sound they love," Scheer suggests. "You're no longer Nickelback, now you're the Four Nickels. We'll put you guys in matching suits. You'll do synchronized dancing." Kroeger immediately refuses it though, saying, "That's not a good idea. That's f***ing horrible idea. You're f***ing moron."

Scheer pitches in another idea, "We need you guys to tap into Detroit .. like many great talents that come out of there like , , RoboCob, , ." Three hours later, the band's members reappear in the room dressing as those stars.

How do people respond to the joke? loves it. The singer, who performed National Anthem at World Series of football championship, says, "It's awful [that petition], but I did see the Funny or Die video which was pretty funny. I think that's great that they can laugh at it. I mean, c'mon, that [petition] is ridiculous. They're going to kill it. It's going to be awesome."

Nickelback will still perform at the NFL game despite the protest. The Canadian band will cater the crowd during the halftime when the Detroit Lions face off the Green Bay Packers on November 24. Before the showdown kicks off, will deliver her rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" first.
