Movie

Sharing some major details of the upcoming 'Bourne' movie, Renner says that his character is called Aaron Cross and claims that the film will be 'more expansive and bigger' than the previous ones.

AceShowbiz - Since Matt Damon wouldn't return to play Jason Bourne, it is known that Jeremy Renner has been tapped as the new leading man in upcoming "The Bourne Legacy". While the official plot of the new "Bourne" film hasn't been unveiled, Renner himself recently unlocked some major details of his character to Empire magazine.

"My character is called Aaron Cross," the actor who will be seen as Hawkeye in "The Avengers" revealed. He added, "But he ends up having a bunch of different names. For fans of the franchise, ['The Bourne Legacy'] has that same ticking clock, but it's a new program and new characters."

Asked if Treadstone operation will still be involved in the upcoming movie, Renner claimed, "Yeah, it's that same deal, it's just a new set of agents with a different leash." Explaining about the tone of the film, he said, "It's the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The differences are pretty vast but you'll know it's a 'Bourne' movie."

To open wide in U.S. theaters on August 17, 2012, "Bourne Legacy" is directed and co-written by Tony Gilroy. Joining Renner in the cast ensemble are Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Albert Finney, Oscar Isaac and Joan Allen.
