NBC gives a back-nine episode order to the fairytale procedural series and gives it a try in the competitive Thursday, 10 P.M. slot on December 8.

AceShowbiz - "Grimm" has become the first new NBC drama which gets a back-nine episode order this fall. The fantasy crime series has been picked up for a full season, joining new comedies "Up All Night" and "Whitney".
"This series is turning the traditional procedural drama on its head and is attracting a loyal following for us on Friday nights," said NBC president Robert Greenblatt in a statement. "We love where it's going creatively and we're excited to deliver more episodes to our audience."
Not only that, "Grimm" is also given a shot in the coveted Thursday, 10 P.M. slot. A new episode of the crime series will air on December 8, followed by another original episode in the series' regular Friday, 9 P.M. slot the next day.
Debuted on October 28, "Grimm" attracted 6.5 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in 18-49 demo, which was better than its lead-in "Chuck", although it aired on the same night World Series Game 7 was held. The David Giuntoli-starrer continues improving, averaging 6.9 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in the demo so far.
NBC previously canceled "The Playboy Club" after just three episodes and will shut down the production of "Prime Suspect" once it has completed its original 13-episode order.
