Dwayne Johnson Joins 'Monster Hunter's Survival Guide' Live Action

The actor/wrestler, who is also known as The Rock, has signed on to star in the film adaptation of John Paul Russ' comic book series about a guide to hunt monsters, beasts and undead creatures.

Dwayne "" Johnson will likely be a monster hunter in his upcoming movie. Deadline reported that the actor and professional wrestler has been tapped to star in a live action adventure movie called "". However, it is still unclear which character will the "" actor tackle.

Based on John Paul Russ' comic book miniseries, the movie is about "a comprehensive guide to hunt monsters, the undead and unnatural beasts, and survive the confrontations." Simon Kinberg, who also worked on "", will produce through his Genre Films banner, but no writer and director has been attached to the film just yet.

Johnson is currently filming "", in which he stars as badass Roadblock. His upcoming projects include Ric Roman Waugh's action thriller "", and Scott Derrickson's biblical retelling "". He will next be seen as 's stepfather in adventurous film, "", which also stars .
