Landing on the bottom two with Stacy, 15-year-old Astro initialy refused to sing for his life before listening to an advice from his mentor, L.A. Reid.

AceShowbiz - It turned out most of "The X Factor (US)" viewers agreed to the judges' opinions that Stacy Francis' performance on Wednesday, November 16 was not the best of hers. The 42-year-old aspiring singer was one of the two contestants who got the lowest vote, before she was eventually voted off by the judges on the Thursday result show.

However, it was not Stacy who caused a drama on the stage that night. Astro, who was also in jeopardy after landing on the bottom two, stated that he would not sing in front of the judges who would determine his fate.

"I really don't wanna perform. I feel like it's unnecessary," the 15-year-old hip-hop dynamo said, before turning to his mentor L.A. Reid for an opinion. "But I'mma leave it up to you. You're my mentor. Do you think I should I perform?" he asked the music producer, who told him to perform.

Astro belted "Never Can Say Goodbye" which described his experiences on the show, but he appeared to be giving only half of his heart in the performance. As for Stacy, she sang "Amazing Grace" for her survival performance.

When it was the time for the judges to make their decision, L.A. criticized Astro for his bad attitude. "You acted a little bit like a quitter, and it upset me," he said, but still picked the boy over Stacy. Paula Abdul also gave her vote to Astro, while Nicole Scherzinger wanted her "student" Stacy to stay.

Before casting his vote, Simon Cowell also commented on Astro's attitude, "I don't like your attitude right now... You are showing disrespect to your mom. You are showing disrespect to the audience at home, and I don't like people with this attitude."

Astro defended himself, "No disrespect to you or this show, but I just feel like if you're going to put me in the bottom two, I don't want to perform for people who don't want me here, you know what I'm saying? That's it." The audience booed the young singer who broke into tears.

When Simon asked if he would show a similar reaction if he is put in the same situation again, Astro apologized. The British music mogul finally gave another shot to Astro and chose to send Stacy home.

The November 17 episode of "X Factor (US)" featured Rihanna as a musical guest. She sang her latest chart-topper "We Found Love" in a pre-taped performance.
