Darren Julien of Julien's Auctions confirms that the antique Louis XV-style headboard from the bed on which the King of Pop died is no longer available for sale.

's death bed is no longer up for grab. Less than a week after it was reported that the bed was among the list of the items to go on sale on December 17, Julien's Auctions revealed that it has been removed from the upcoming auction at the request of the Jackson family.

On Tuesday, November 15, company president Darren Julien confirmed that an elaborate antique Louis XV-style headboard from the bed on which MJ died in 2009 is no longer available for sale. He additionally clarified that the mattresses were never included in the auction because they were taken away as evidence after the King of Pop died.

Explaining the removal of the item from the planned auction, Julien told Reuters, "We want to maintain a good relationship with the family and we don't want to do anything upsetting for them." Before it was yanked from sale, its bidding price was set to start around $3,000-$5,000 depending on the demand.

Although the bed is no longer up for sale, other items from MJ's last residence, the Holmby Hills mansion are still scheduled to be auctioned. Paintings by Maurice Utrillo and Henri Rosseau, an antique armoire and a kitchen chalkboard with a handwritten note were among them.
