"The Vampire Diaries" fans will finally meet Bonnie's mother in an upcoming episode of the fantasy series. Persia White, who is best known for her role as Lynn Searcy on sitcom "Girlfriends", has been cast to play Abby Bennett who abandoned her daughter Bonnie.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Abby is "a beautiful but troubled woman who is burdened by the secrets of her past that led her to leave Bonnie." Like other Bennet women, she is determined and fiery. The character will first appear in episode 12 of season 3 and recur.
