Although he has been prepared for opposition to the sex-themed episode, the Kurt depicter assures that his character and Blaine's first sex is 'handled very sweetly and very emotionally.'

AceShowbiz - Chris Colfer has made sure that "Glee" will keep its upcoming episode teen-friendly although it very much deals with sex and virginity. Dishing on Kurt and Blaine's first sex encounter which will be highlighted in the November 8 episode, the actor said the scene is not as raunchy as some, including himself, may expect.

"It's nothing like what my imagination built it up to be. It was much tamer than even I was expecting," Colfer told Entertainment Weekly. "My imagination went all over the place. I think everyone is going to walk away from it wishing their first time was like that."

Still, the openly-gay star admitted he was a little bit worried when learning that showrunner Ryan Murphy wants to tackle this sensitive issue. "It's funny, I always go into this instant panic state whenever they tell me about upcoming episodes because we always do so many delicate situations on the show," he said before adding, "But then I get the script and we shoot it and it's always handled so well that I never really had any reason to worry about it."

Although he is sure that people behind the series have properly conveyed the first sex issue for a TV show, Colfer has been prepared should television watchdog groups object to the storyline. "I absolutely expect to hear from them," he claimed. "But I think it's handled very sweetly and very emotionally... They're expecting this big, raunchy, suggestive, brainwashing storyline when really it's very sweet."

The 21-year-old insisted that such plot is inevitable, reasoning, "Teens are having sex. There's not that much you can do to stop it, and we're just showing a story about it.... It's about an experience in these teen's lives that everyone has." He went on defending, "I think it's promoting safe teen sex."

"I believe there's lots of safe sex innuendos and mentions in the episode," Colfer further pointed out. "And it goes back to what Burt said when he had that sex talk last year - don't throw yourself around. Make it matter, make it meaningful. Make sure it's with the right person and that you don't regret it later."

Describing Kurt and Blaine's intimate moment, he detailed, "The love scene is, with all due respect to the episode and all the people behind it, I think the love scene was all physical. We don't say anything. We kissed and rolled around a bit."

On how the experience will affect the couple, the "Struck by Lightning" writer said, "I'm assuming they'll be much happier." He joked, "They'll probably be a lot more tired," before adding, "But I think it brings them closer."

Titled "The First Time", the upcoming outing of "Glee" also marks the first time Rachel and Finn have sex. The musical show airs every Tuesday at 8/7c on FOX.
