Gearing up to the new year, The CW has unveiled its 2012 midseason schedule. Debuting this fall, the third season of "The Vampire Diaries" and the first season of "The Secret Circle" will return on Thursday, January 5 after taking a hiatus this upcoming December.

A day later, the second season of "Nikita" and the seventh season of "Supernatural" will be back with new original episodes. "Gossip Girl" will resume airing its new episodes from season 5 on Monday, January 16, while "Hart of Dixie" will return a week later on January 23.

Beside these shows which are back with new episodes after taking a holiday break, the 2012 midseason will also mark the premiere of the ninth and final season of "One Tree Hill". Wednesday, January 11 will be the day when the long-running series enters its last chapter.

A week later on January 18, new reality series "Remodeled" will be debuted after "Hill". It will serve as a bridge between the two cycles of "America's Next Top Model".
