"American Idol" hopefuls in season 11 may need to work harder than the contestants in previous season. Jennifer Lopez has revealed that the show's current standard would put aspiring singers in comparison with the top 24 from last season.

"We're a little tougher on everybody," the "Papi" singer said at a Samsung Hope for Children event supporting the Maribel Foundation in Los Angeles. She went on explaining, "Because of last season and the standard that we set, it's easy to go, 'Is he as good as even our top 24 from last year?' "

Assuring that the upcoming season of "Idol" will still be glittered with "amazing" talents, J.Lo said, "It's not like you find people just like that, but the ones that we found, we know are very special."

During the ocassion, the estranged wife of Marc Anthony also talked about her relationship with fellow "Idol" judges, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson. "They're like my brothers and they drive me crazy like brothers, too," she said before quickly added, "But we love each other, which is why we've become like a family."

The new season of "American Idol" will premiere January 22, 2012 on FOX following the NFC Championship Game. Ryan Seacrest is still tackling the hosting duty.
