AMC has given it another life following the record-breaking season two premiere last week.

AceShowbiz - AMC is so confident of "The Walking Dead" that it has renewed the horror show for third season right after the second season premiere. The cable's network was being reasonable because the series reached its highest rating ever on its second season premiere last week.

"Today we are pleased to announce that the 'dead' shall live as we proudly renew 'The Walking Dead' for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels," said Charlie Collier, AMC's President. "We are thankful for everyone's contribution in front of and behind the camera as we continue to make The Walking Dead a unique television experience. And, we are so proud as it continues to set viewership records around the world."

The premiere absorbed 4.8 million viewers in the favorable 18-49 demographic and 4.2 million adults 25-54 which brings the total to 7.3 million viewers. Last year, the season one premiere took in 5.3 million viewers and a 2.7 rating in adults 18-49.
