TV

From the mysterious disappearance of inmates in Alcatraz many decades ago, the video switches scene to highlight the chase of one of the worst criminals in the country.

AceShowbiz - A new trailer for FOX's brand new series "Alcatraz" has landed online. Shorter than the first promo released a few months ago, the new sneak peek offers less scenes but manages to tease the action, mystery and drama to be conveyed by the J.J. Abrams-executive produced show.

True to the title, the series revolves around Alcatraz and the mysterious reappearance of its inhabitants in the present after they were gone missing decades ago. A team is assigned to investigate the case, trying to keep the country safe from history's most dangerous criminals.

Agent Emerson Hauser, played by Sam Neill, apparently has known about the prison's secret history and has been awaiting the prisoners' return. Also drawn into the highly classified assignment are San Francisco Police Department Detective, Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones), as well as Alcatraz expert and comic book enthusiast, Dr. Diedo "Doc" Soto (Jorge Garcia).

"Alcatraz" is slated to air every Monday starting midseason 2012.
