Initially receiving a 'no' from Simon Cowell, Melanie Amaro is later invited by his mentor to join 16 other finalists for the live shows.

AceShowbiz - The outcome of "The X Factor (US)" judges' houses stage has been announced on Tuesday, October 18. While the show was initially expected to trim the 32 contestants to 16 before the live shows, an extra singer is added to the pile in a last-minute twist.

Melanie Amaro, who was in "Girls" category, was initially rejected by her mentor Simon Cowell. The judge, however, later visited her home in Florida to ask her back in the competition after getting approval from the other judges.

Amaro joins Simone Battle who was given a warning by Cowell about forgetting lyrics, Drew Ryniewicz who impressed judges with a better rendition of Justin Bieber's "Baby", Tiah Tolliver who has been getting a support from Cowell, and Rachel Crow who has a dream to buy a bigger home if she wins the grand prize.

From "Over 30s" category, there are Josh Krajcik, Dexter Haygood, Leroy Bell and Stacy Francis who will appear in the live shows. The Brewer Boys, Lakoda Rayne, InTENsity and Stereo Hogzz beat out other contenders in "Groups" category, while Brian "Astro" Bradley, Phillip Lomax, Chris Rene and Marcus Canty come out as the bests in "Boys" category.

The "X Factor" live shows will start airing next week. While the competition is gearing up for the finals, there is rumor swirling around that producers are looking for a co-host to accompany Steve Jones or a replacement for the Welsh presenter because the 34-year-old failed to charm American audience.
