Words are, the Johnny Depp-starring movie is scheduled to start production on February 6, 2012, now that principal players agree to take 20 percent pay cut.

The path for "" to get into theaters is getting clearer. After it was threatened by a budgetary issue, the problem is now reportedly solved and the movie is said to start production on February 6, 2012.

According to Variety, lead actors and as well as director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have agreed to cut 20% of their salaries to reduce the budget from $250 million to a $215 million range. Other details about the film, however, are still kept under wraps.

With the new tentative start date, it is unclear whether or not the project will stay on its release schedule of late 2012. Previously, the adventure action movie has been touted as a potential big film coming out at the end next year.

Based on George W. Trendle's classic old-time radio and early television show of the same name, "The Lone Ranger" follows a masked Texas Ranger (Hammer) who survived the deathly ambush by a gang of outlaws. Together with his native American assistant Tonto (Depp), he brings the unscrupulous gang and others of that ilk to justice.
