Betty White announced her presidential run on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" while at the same revealing that she had no good motive. In a sketch for the talk show aired on Monday night, October 10, the comedienne was invited to the stage to talk about her faux move, admitting that she did it for the sake of money.
"I needed some cash. I'm flat broke. I lost everything in the big crash," the Rose Nylund of "The Golden Girls" said when Craig Ferguson asked what made her decide to run for the White House. She further disappointed the host after she passed on questions about such issues as immigration reform, defense spending and healthcare.
"Can I phone a friend? I think Richard Nixon would know the answer," White replied as referring to the late U.S. president whom she wanted to be her mate for the presidential run. Ferguson finally concluded, "You know what Betty, you've got no experienced, you're totally uninformed, and you seem to have a questionable grip on reality."
"I know -- I'm the perfect politician!" the 89-year-old beauty responded to the criticism. Ferguson replied that he could see himself supporting the "You Again" star as a presidential candidate, but refused to hang her campaign poster which mimicked the color style of the Barack Obama "Hope" posters.
