'Lost' Showrunner Sells Unconventional Spiritual Drama to ABC

Carlton Cuse will team up with author/pastor Rob Bell to shepherd 'Stronger' which follows a musician who becomes a benefactor and spiritual guide.

AceShowbiz - Carlton Cuse reunites with ABC for a potential new show called "Stronger". The "Lost" showrunner has sold his spiritual drama to the network. He will additionally join forces with author/pastor Rob Bell to write the pilot and executive produce the project.

"Stronger" revolves around a musician named Tom Stronger. The plot, loosely based on Bell's own life story as a musician who ended up founding his own churchs, follows Tom's spiritual journey as he ends up becoming a benefactor and guide to others.

Due to the pastor's history, the show is expected to feature prominent music. There will also be a narrative twist to the project that will make it a bit unconventional, but not supernatural.

Although being spiritual, "Stronger" won't be straight and square like previous spiritual series, including "Touched by an Angel" and "7th Heaven". A healthy dose of humor will additionally be injected to make the show lighter.

At almost the same time, ABC also bought a scripted series from ESPN. The Boston sports fan comedy, which is yet to be titled, is created by former "Scrubs" executive producer Bill Callahanthe.

The plotline centers on a relationship between four longtime guy friends, still living in their hometown outside of Boston, who gather once a week to watch one of their beloved teams play.
