'DWTS' Week 2 Recap: Kristin Cavallari Stunning, Chaz Bono Too Slow

Kristin earns praise for showing improvement and Chaz shows determination despite his slow quickstep, but the night belongs to Ricki Lake who delivers the best jive.

AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" returned for its second week with the remaining eleven couples dancing either the jive or the quickstep. While the likes of Kristin Cavallari, Ricki Lake and Elisabetta Canalis did better than last week, some others were still struggling to find the right steps.

Hope Solo started the performance show on Monday, September 26 with the jive which scored 19. Len Goodman called it "crisp" and "booyacatchah", but noted that she lost timing in some moments. Carrie Ann Inaba also thought it was great before advising the soccer player to work a little of her upper body.

Kristin took the stage next, dancing the quickstep. She obviously showed improvement than last week and Len credited her for this, gushing, "You look fantastic." Carrie Ann compared Kristin's first performance to her latest dance, saying, "Last week, nervous. This week, sophisticated, stunning!" The former "The Hills" star got 22 for her effort.

David Arquette seemingly tried to follow judges' advice last week, but not in the right portion. Bruno Toli explained, "We told you not to hold back... and you're like a runaway train... You lost the timing, you lost a little bit of technique... well, a lot of technique." Carrie Ann added, "You were loose, you were almost too loose." The actor scored 18 for his jive.

Being in the bottom of score board last week, Elisabetta earned 21 for her quickstep that night. "You totally came back and you nailed the steps," Carrie Ann said, and Bruno chimed in, "The pistons were pumping." Len was balance in his comment, saying, "It's not great, but it was better than last week."

The judges additionally praised the great improvement done by Rob Kardashian. Len called his jive a proper performance, while Carrie Ann thought he was a better dancer than his sister Kim Kardashian. Rob scored 21.

Carson Kressley was up next with the quickstep. The judges noted that he put a lot of work into it, but his dance has not gotten better. Still, Len was entertained with it as he said, "The worst dancers on the show are the most fun to watch!" Bruno added, "As entertainment, is great." The judges gave him 18.

Ricki was another contestant shining that night with her jive that earned 23, which was the highest point on the second performance show. Bruno said, "You're the first person tonight who did the flicks and kicks correctly," while Carrie Ann called it the "best jive of the night so far!"

Still showing his charm, Chaz Bono has not proven that he is a great dancer. His quickstep was too slow that Len said, "It was a quickstep, and I moved faster through a car wash." Still, the judge admired his grit and determination. Bruno commented, "You've done well for the circumstances you were in." The son of Cher earned 17.

Chynna Phillips showed a steady performance as she got 21 for her jive. "It was good, but it wasn't great really. It was neat... The jive is about wow! It needed more excitement," Len pointed out the lack in her dance while still praising it. Carrie Ann also enjoyed it, but felt like Chynna "played it a little safe."

Nancy Grace came out next with the quickstep. Bruno said "it was a bit top-heavy at times," while Carrie Ann saw improvement in it. Len, meanwhile, called it "refreshing" although adding that her posture could improve. The HLN host got 21.

J.R. Martinez was the last dancer that night, doing the jive. Bruno called it "the most satisfying overall performance of the night," while Carrie Ann gushed, "It was great, it was fantastic." Len, however, noted, "The problem was, what's in the label is not on the tin. I was looking for a jive and you gave me a lindy hop." The "All My Children" star got 22.
