The "Fringe" and "Lost" creator is joining forces with "Supernatural" creator/executive producer Eric Kripke for a new drama titled "Revolution" that has gotten a pilot production commitment from NBC.

The epic adventure thriller comes from Abrams' Bad Robot production company and Warner Bros. TV, with Kripke writing the pilot. The "Super 8" helmer and Kripke will additionally team up with Bryan Burk ("Fringe", "Lost") to serve as executive producers. Other details about the project are still kept under wraps.

Another new series from Abrams, "Alcatraz", will debut in midseason on FOX. As for Kripke, he recently signed up to write and executive produce "Deadman", which is adapted from DC Comic, for The CW.
