Geo Godley, who dropped his pants when singing in front of 'The X Factor (US)' judges, says he was actually wearing a g-string and apologizes to those offended by his act.

AceShowbiz - Another problem is hitting newly debuted "The X Factor (US)". After dealing with lawsuits from "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller and contestants during audition stage, the show is now slapped with a Federal Communications Commission complaint filed by the Parents Television Council.

The complaint was made after a contestant, Geo Godley, dropped his pants during his performance in a pre-taped segment which aired on Wednesday night, September 21. The judges were shocked as Paula Abdul was seen storming off stage. L.A. Reid additionally declared, "That was offensive, disgusting, distasteful, upsetting - get him out of the building please!"

Although the broadcast actually did not feature any nudity because FOX put a giant "X" over Godley's genitals, PTC claimed in its complaint which was filed on Friday morning, "Families were led to believe 'The X Factor' would be family-friendly programming and instead were assaulted by graphic nudity."

PTC president Tim Winter explained, "The prolonged, previously videotaped footage of a contestant dancing nude on the X Factor stage represents a conscious decision by the producers - with the approval of the network's broadcast standards department - to intentionally air this content in front of millions of families during hours when they knew full well that children would be watching."

He went on bashing the act, "If Godley performed his act in public, he would have been arrested. But if he performs it in front of a FOX camera, his act is beamed via the public airwaves into every home in the nation."

Godley has since defended himself, saying that he was actually not naked because he wore a g-string. He additionally admitted that his performance was inspired by his Greek Island culture, explaining, "We always dance in g-strings. G-strings are legal. The PTC have no complaint to make."

The aspiring singer, however, feels sorry that he has offended some people. "I apologize to anyone that was exposed to my behind," he told TMZ. "I had no intention of showing it and it was an accident when I fell. I was caught up in the moment."
